Bad Government Stokes Chaos and Violence In Charlottesville VA
By Greg Aprahamian 8/12/17

Violence broke out in Charlottesville Virginia on August 12, as protesters and counter protesters gathered to stop the removal of a civil war statue of confederate leader General Robert E. Lee. The removal of the Robert E. Lee statue in Charlottesville Virginia follows the removal of other Confederate statues in other states that were apart of the American Southern Confederacy.

152 years after the end of the American civil war, when most reasonable Americans thought the conflict was long dead and buried, Politicians seem to have found new political use for old memorials that were built by Americans in Southern states to honor and acknowledge those that fought and suffered defeat during the American civil war. The recent move to remove and replace Southern civil war memorials proves William Faulkner’s statement; “The past is never dead, it’s not even past’, to be more than correct.

Why the new found need to remove memorials that previous generations of people in the area built and have lived with for 100+ years? These memorials were purposely built to help close and heal the deeply humiliating defeat that the people in the American Southeast lived through.

Unfortunately if one does a little bit of research into the current political leadership of Charlottesville VA. one quickly sees that the Democrat Mayor of Charlottesville, had a strong reaction and was vehemently opposed to the election of Donald Trump. After the election Mayor Signer made several radical moves in reaction to Trump’s victory.

Directly after the inauguration of Donald Trump, the Mayor of Charlottesville VA gave a press conference and declared the town that he represents to be; “The capital of the resistance” (to Donald Trump).
Chief among what he wanted Charlottesville to resist was Federal immigration enforcement and to fully embrace sanctuary law.
