Lord, You are our Conqueror. As You told Pilate, You said You were not of this world. What we need to conquer is not of this world. Ours alone is the decision to trust You.
You founded Your empire on love. You said: “I have conquered the world.” John 16.33 You spoke courage into us, for this is a finished task. When You moved to Your death it was not toward defeat, but toward victory! You knew that it would be a time of separation from the Father, because He could not look upon sin. You also knew the Father was there, just not to be seen. This battle against sin was Yours to win alone. Ours alone is the decision to trust You.
You promised Your followers peace. Thank You for the grace to take heart, because You have overcome the world. The world has afflictions: oppositions, distrust, hatred with its tensions and strife. Although You do not give us freedom You help us deal with anxiety; we may have misfortunes and disaster, but with You there we can have peace in the midst of these times. We can have harmony with You.
I John 5.4,5 says: “The victory that defeats the world is our faith, for who is victor over the world but he who believes Jesus is the Son of God?” To the Romans Paul cries out: “We are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us.” Paul talks about separation from You, which You dealt with on the cross so we would never have the experience at that depth: “What can separate us from the love of Christ? Can Affliction or hardship? Can persecution, hunger, nakedness, peril, or the sword? We are being done to death for Thy sake all day long…and yet, in spite of all, overwhelming victory is ours through Him Who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8.35-39
You are our victory. We declare we will abide in You. We will stay attached to You, Mighty Conqueror!”
Thanks for praying. Blessings. Nancy
