A much-loved and respected elementary school teacher at an Etiwanda, California school read a storybook story covering the subject of the family. A father of a boy pupil was spending the day in the classroom with his four-year-old son. The father was expecting a patriotic theme to be covered. You see, the date was September 11, 2015.
The story mentioned all types of family constellations except the traditional, one-mommy-married-to-one-daddy type. The two daddy and two-mommy structure was referenced in a subtle way. The Christian father was concerned. He dealt with the matter in the appropriate way: The teacher, the principal, the superintendent and finally the school board.
On September 24, 2015 the school board meeting was full to overflowing. Some spoke about their concern about the story saying that it is inappropriate; some spoke expressing concern that their family of origin structure was not referenced; some spoke about concern for those who were concerned about the story content. Concerning all the concern, I would like to share my comment to the board.
First I discussed the fortuitousness of my empirical research for my doctoral dissertation and about subsequent publications in peer-review journals germane to the topic. The dissertation title is:
Parental Influence of Sex-Role Preference, Stereotypic Sex-Role Concepts, And Sex-Role Adoption Upon The Expression Of Sex-Role Preference, Stereotypic Sex-Role Concepts, And Sex-Role Adoption In Second Grade Boys
Teach Children the 10 Commandments
- God is God and I am not
- Don’t lie
- Don’t steal
- Don’t cheat
- Honor your parents
- Do not harm another
By teaching gender-role confusion, teachers are playing God.
By teaching gender-role confusion, teachers are lying about normalcy.
By teaching gender-role confusion, teachers are stealing a child’s innocence.
By teaching gender-role confusion, teachers are cheating a child from healthy learning.
By teaching gender-role confusion, teachers dishonor normal parents.
By teaching gender-role confusion, teachers are a role model for harming others.
Concerning teaching this perverted politically correct message teachers prove Proverbs 14:12: “There is a way which seems right to man; but the end thereof are the ways of death.” So, Teach the Ten Commandments. They are eternal!
